Friday night was something special as Sydney singer-songwriter (and ultimate Queen), Thandi Phoenix kicked off her FIRST EVER headline tour with an intimate set at the club!
Thandi is one of those entrancing artists you instantly feel drawn to and happy around—she absolutely loves what she does and it shines through her stage presence.
She really is something other-worldly... Her powerful, yet soulful vocal delivery and vibrant energy emanated from her like blissful sunshine.
This goddess encapsulated the audience with an unmissable night of music and we couldn't be more delighted to host the first night of her debut headline tour.
Her vibe is feel good and funky, making every cell in your body want to dance, blending a mixture of electro/house vibes with upbeat percussions and even a soulful ballad on the keys, all alongside her talented support band.
We also had the pleasure of hearing new material, as her brand new single "Cleopatra"dropped that same day. This track is all about channelling your inner queen and empowering yourself, reminding you of your self-worth and never letting anyone undermine you and all that makes you special.
Thandi's talents come effortlessly. She truly is a gifted muso in more ways than one.
We even got a chance to kick back before her show for our brand new interview series, Live At The Fat Man (LATFM).
LATFM lets us have fun and get up close and personal with the acts that play at the club, helping fans further connect with artists.
We got an insight into her musical journey, opening up about her first solo tour, what it was like collaborating with big names like Jhene Aiko, Rudimental and Vera Blue (to name a few), the inspiration behind her music and more.
This babe was so much fun and talk about exciting news, we got to host her first, of many, interviews. So stay tuned as the interview will be rolling out on our socials soon.
Thandi Phoenix has cemented herself as one of Australia's most up and coming artists and with good reason.
We absolutely LOVED every moment with this beautiful soul and by the looks of it, she did too!
"Fat Controller was a vibe! From the wicked venue, to the wonderful crew and people I met in the audience - I can't wait to come back," she said.
Watch out everybody, this is just the beginning of Thandi Phoenix...
